Vision

The students of River Mill Elementary are competent, resourceful learners who strive for success and are driven to reach their highest potential. They have the knowledge, skills, and determination to graduate college and career ready. They are problem-solvers who use their critical thinking skills to inform their decisions and face the challenges of life. They are productive and caring members of our school and community who inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

Mission

The mission of the River Mill school counseling program is to work in collaboration with staff, parents, and the community to provide a comprehensive program in which all students are challenged to reach their highest potential and to become competent, resourceful, and successful in their academic, personal-social, and career development and as lifelong learners.

BELIEFS STATEMENT
All students can learn and achieve mastery of academic, personal-social, and career standards delivered by the school counselor that will result in college and career readiness.
All students are treated with respect and are provided a safe physical, emotional, and social learning environment.
The school counselor will analyze and evaluate school and program data to inform decisions regarding program goals and objectives that promote student wellness and achievement.
The school counselor will provide a comprehensive program that is developmental in nature, goal-oriented, and based on the identified needs of students.
The school counselor will serve as a leader in the planning, managing, delivery, and evaluation of school counseling program activities. The school counseling advisory committee will provide valuable feedback in this process.
The school counselor will advocate for all students ensuring equitable access to a high-quality education that promotes student health, wellness, and achievement.
The school counselor will abide by the ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors to maintain the highest standard of integrity, leadership, and professionalism.
